Volunteer Position Descriptions


Volunteers Make Camp a Success!

It takes a variety of talents and interests to make just one week of camp a success. We need YOU on our team! Help us in ensuring the success of each of camping sessions this July. We have positions that cover the more artsy to the behind-the-scenes individual. Helping lead musical worship, teaching a small group bible lesson, working in the kitchen…these are just a couple of the many spots that must be filled. Thank you for considering helping us out this summer!

*Volunteer registration will open on April 1st, 2024. Registration is all online and there are no fees or costs for volunteers to attend a session and help out. Not only is it free to volunteer, you will also receive some perks for your help!

Available Positions & Descriptions

+ Bible Teacher

Duties: Using the provided curriculum, teach bible lessons to campers in a small group setting. Class time is meant for campers to get to learn and interact with the bible. *Youth are more attentive and engaged when given choices. With this in mind, we want to offer classes on different topics and interests. If you are passionate or knowledgable about a specific bible topic, and would be interested in writing and/or teaching curriculum on that topic, please let us know!

+ Counselor - LEAD role

Duties: Lead Role over CITs and Assistant Counselors. Counselors will be assigned a cabin and campers for the duration of a session. Their job is to build relationships, mentor and lead youth with a Christ-like Attitude. They are responsible for the general safety and security of their assigned campers. Counselors will be in charge of leading some activities and devotions with campers throughout each session. *Counselors are required to complete a separate application which is located under the Counselor Position page.

    + Counselor-in-Training (CIT)

Duties: This is a leadership training role. CITs will work under the direction of a lead counselor assisting with the daily and weekly responsibilities of a counselor. CITs share responsibility for younger campers and must exhibit Christian demeanor and maturity.
*Aimed at teens ages 14-17 who are interested in becoming a lead counselor in the future. Position for Junior Camp Sessions ONLY. CITs will need to complete a separate application located under the CIT Position page.

    + Assistant Counselor

Duties: An assistant counselor provides lead counselors assistance with their assigned campers and cabin. They work under the direction of the lead counselor to help maintain safety and security for campers and to build Christian relationships with youth. *For ages 18+ who are either interested in becoming a counselor or are willing to stay in a youth cabin and help with daily duties.

+ Childcare Volunteer

Duties: In an effort to support volunteers with families, we are looking for individuals at each session who are interested in helping with volunteer’s children who are six and younger. Responsible for helping monitor underage children during select times when their parent/guardian has scheduled duties. Must follow established procedures for childcare.
*This role is entirely dependent on each session’s volunteers and may or may not be necessary. Ages could range from infant to 6.

+ Craft Leaders

Duties: Craft Leaders will be responsible for ensuring craft supplies are set up and cleaned up at the appropriate times. Leaders will provide instruction and assistance to campers participating in crafts.

+ Evangelist

Duties: Responsible for planning, writing and delivering a God focused message that is engaging to the level of youth in attendance. The Evangelist will communicate with Camp Directors regarding session ages, theme and focus. Evangelists will also need to be available to campers for spiritual questions, counseling and discipleship. Evangelists will also need to be committed to developing Christ-centered relationships with campers and willing to participate in activities.

+ Kitchen Leader - LEAD role

Duties: Lead Role over Kitchen Support Crew. Responsible for the direction of the kitchen volunteers in the preparation, serving and cleaning of each meal. Kitchen Leaders will be responsible for ensuring that each meal is prepared on-time in a safe and sanitary environment, kitchen volunteers follow the appropriate rules for meal preparation and supplies are available when needed and organized correctly. They will direct volunteers on using all equipment safely and appropriately. Kitchen Leaders will track inventory and communicate with Camp Directors regarding supply needs.

    + Kitchen Support Crew

Duties: Assist with meal preparation, cooking, serving and cleaning. At the direction of the Kitchen Leader, make meals available on-time following the established safe and sanitary practices. Appropriate use of commercial kitchen appliances and equipment will be necessary.

+ Nurse/Medical Personnel

Duties: Responsible for the general medical care of campers, volunteers and staff. Must be available at all times during the session. Responsible for performing basic first aid, dispensing medication as required and following legal procedures and instructions. Medical Personnel will maintain medical logs and coordinate with parents and Camp Directors as necessary. During Registration, Medical Personnel will perform head lice checks according to established practices and procedures.
*Medical Certification and Experience is Preferred.

+ Registration Crew

Duties: This role is ONLY on the first day of the session during the registration period. Under the direction of the Camp Directors, Registration Crew Volunteers will be responsible for assisting in registration completion and verification, collecting camper fees, and helping direct campers and parents to the appropriate locations.
*ALL volunteers and staff will have an assigned role during registration on the first day of the session. Individuals who do not have an assigned role during registration will be assigned to assist with greeting and directing campers and volunteers.

+ Snack Shack Leader - LEAD role

Duties: Lead Role over Snack Shack Support Crew. Responsible for operating the Snack Shack and managing volunteers and campers. Arrange for the set up (before) and clean up (after) each Snack Shack schedule. Ensure food preparation and sanitation procedures are followed by volunteers. Responsible for tracking inventory and communicating with Camp Directors regarding supply needs. Help to ensure camper’s spending money is tracked securely and accurately.

    + Snack Shack Support Crew

Duties: Under the direction of the Snack Shack Leader, help to prepare and disperse food and beverage products to campers. Follow all preparation and sanitation guidelines and procedures. Help to set up and clean the Snack Shack before and after each scheduling.

+ Worship Team Leader - LEAD role

Duties: Lead Role over Worship Team. Worship Team Leader will communicate with Worship Team Volunteers in selecting and planning worship and praise music/songs. There could be up to two worship times per day during each session. Leaders will organize rehearsals throughout the week, visual lyrics, and volunteers for worship times. Leaders will need to communicate with Camp Directors regarding sound and presentation equipment availability and usage. Please specify instrument and/or vocal support preferences on Volunteer Position Interest form.*

    + Worship Team

Duties: Work as a team with other Worship Team members under the direction of the Worship Team Leader to provide a God focused worship experience to campers. This could be through vocal support, playing an instrument or running the sound and projection equipment. There could be up to two worship times per day during each session.
