11/16/09 Camp Wilderness Workday turns into the "Mission in Missouri" and was a Huge Success! Back to Top

The original plan was to have a workday focusing on chipping up tree parts and clearing debris, but God had other plans! Our simple workday turned into a weekend mission trip and was renamed the Mission in Missouri. A big thanks to everyone who participated this weekend! Whether it was spent planning, making food, or donating a few hours or the whole weekend of your time, the camp board is grateful for everyone who served. Here are some highlights of the weekend:

We had 60 people involved in some way and participated in:

  • A pill bottle mission for Honduras
  • Delivered a load of firewood for a family in need
  • Chipped lots and lots of limbs (anybody need some mulch?)
  • Cooking and/or provided food for the weekend.

The service Sunday morning was amazing and featured music led by Luke, Cassey, Lindsey, and Jake.

Luke's message was on how mission work is part of bearing fruit, and he did a wonderful job!

Positive feedback has been received about the weekend, and the camp looks great. Still more work to do, but it was a great start!! Folks are already looking forward to our next "Mission in Missouri" next fall!
